It’s NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) which is very exciting as, after taking October off to spend my time submitting my first novel to literary agents and publishers (as a quick update – so far unsuccessfully),  I am itching to get back to writing. My second book in The Grayson Trilogy is called Before the Dawn and whilst being fully formed in my mind I have had to force myself to hold off starting writing it – until now! And I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to getting going!

I’m generally not one for signing up for online group type forumy things (yes I am making up words) but I’m giving it a go though I think with the deadline I already feel upon me it is unlikely I will have any time to interact at all. The information I have given is a little sketchy as well and as for a short synopsis of the plot – absolutely not ready to do that yet! Will have to think long and hard about what to say that will satisfy without giving it all away – also a bit difficult when no one knows what went on in the first book – actually I’m starting to think I haven’t thought this through at all…..

Anyway, having signed up I am a little daunted by the thought of 50,000 words in the month especially as the website (helpfully!) told me there are only 29 days left which means 1725 per day and I know just how busy I already am for the rest of the month with my current workload. However – who doesn’t like a challenge – and as I have pointed out in previous blog posts I also love a deadline! So bring it on…..
