I can imagine just how many words you have managed in this concentrated session, T! I'm sure you've pretty much nailed that next book :-D

I hope you will then give your aching joints the chance to recover, at least for long enough to get you though the next bout. Thank you for breaking off long enough to read and comment though, and yes, I am uplifted :-D

Onward with the next 1000...

Congratulations on your bronze stars, G! That must be very uplifting :)

I have to say, I've given up trying to find that 'balance' that you and Wendy mention. Writing comes first and that's that, with some space allowed for basic hygiene and nutrition!! I suppose if I was really, really REALLY dedicated I would conform to that romantic notion of the writer forgetting to eat and waving away a sandwich brought by the spouse, and wearing the same clothes for days while creating the masterpiece. For a start, my shoulders couldn't take it.

I'm on the last day of a concentrated writing jag (won't tell you how many words!), though yesterday I did think, bloody hell, look at that gorgeous day, I need to at least feel a bit of it - and hobbled down the road! Now my knee is paying the price, and my elbow, finger and shoulder joints are paying the price for spending 4 days at the laptop.

Listen, people - do all that stuff you really want to do BEFORE the arthritis sets in!!!

Thank you! I can completely understand your change of perspective too. I saw a post on Facebook of what was going on in your life and I send big hugs and positive vibes your way and hope this situation improves for you very soon. It is all about trying to find the correct balance of all the different areas of life isn't it. Thank so much for reading and commenting. :-D xx

I agree with you Georgia, admin etc. can get overwhelming and I find if I’m not careful I flit from one task to another in despair and don’t completely follow through. Bad plan!
Allocating a designated writing slot is a really good idea. Being currently in the throes of dealing with... let’s just call it “health issues”, my plan is to have a similar regime, but specifically to make sure I allow time to fit in the other side of “life” as well. These situations make you to view your world from a slightly different perspective!

Congratulations on your competition 3rd place, by the way! Great job!
