Oh it did Carol, besides being able to imagine the straight backs and feel the starched collars I was initially surprised when a particular something happened and then not surprised at all. Even though I haven’t read much in this period what seemed unusual then felt familiar from all sorts of stories, programmes etc from that era. I shall look forward to catching up with Trafalgar another time! 🙂

I am SO glad that somebody recognised that the book DOES indeed seek to emulate the style of the period and is not just ‘an historical novel’. May I also say that Trafalgar Moggs’ story is continued in the next book in the sequence, Honour & Obey.
