One Two Buckle My Shoe is the first in a series and I really liked the setting for this easy read opener of what promises to be an excellent series of books.
The retirement village is for ‘interesting’ people who are older, but not too old and some of them naturally get involved in solving this gentle mystery. Lamprey gives us an original setting, who wouldn’t want to live somewhere where your everyday needs are so well catered for, which is ideal for the spawning of future stories. She skilfully draws her characters so they are fully rounded and I particularly liked Edge and her no nonsense style.
Well written and with a cleverly thought out plot with enough twists to keep me guessing but with a satisfying end this was a highly enjoyable read which I would recommend to anyone who likes gentle mysteries with a great cast of characters. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
