Sometimes you’re not sure about whether to try a new to you author, both in terms of investment of time and money, or not, and I’m a firm believer in trying a taster first, where possible. This charming short story is just such an opportunity to see if you like the writer’s style before going on to try a full novel.
This short story, and the series, is set in Silver Springs, a beautiful small town in New England. There is no explicit content, violence, or profanity. And what I’ve read so far is definitely feel-good with mouth-watering descriptions of delicious dishes and plenty of crime solving among the crafting.
So if cosy mystery is your preferred reading then I can recommend this short story as a good place to start before you go on to explore the rest of the series.
