I’ll start this review by saying that the short stories that feature in The Emporium are a delight to read from start to finish. Told by the unnamed owner of a particularly intriguing shop, they are tales you know but told in a way that is refreshing and entertaining. I should add that these cleverly written stories may be rooted in fairy tales, but do not be fooled into thinking they are for children, not that children couldn’t read them, it’s just that they are perfectly pitched for adult entertainment as well.
The writing is superb. Absolutely spot on. And the humour is dry and delicious. I highly recommend them to everyone who enjoys beautiful writing and original storytelling.
