I chose to read this book as a member of Rosie Amber’s Book Review Team and received a copy from the author but that doesn’t alter my review in any way.
I was so pleased I chose this book to read. I love short stories anyway and the beautifully descriptive writing in these drew me straight into the narrative.
It’s difficult to pick favourites but I particularly liked the intensity of Seeing Trails and the vivid descriptions of the life and dreams of homeless Papa Jack, an outsider looking in on the delights of Meriden Arms. The Boy and The Whale was a clever look at a dystopian future and I thought the outcome in Empty-Handed excellent. Winning isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
There’s a good range of genres throughout this book as well as short and longer pieces. Indeed there is something for everyone and I highly recommend it to all those who enjoy a well-told tale and excellent writing.
Thank you Georgia.
