We all need a little inspiration sometimes and How I Changed My Life in a Year is full of positivity and optimism which gives you a great big lift just by reading it. Many of us make a New Year resolution, maybe one or two of them, and how long do they last? Often, not as long as the party leftovers.
This author not only set herself 12 months of challenges, which became the less intimidating 52 weeks of mini-bite sized challenges but she saw it through.
Some of the ideas may change your life more than others but all of them are thoughtful inclusions because of what this author wanted to achieve.
There were lovely reminders for me such as August’s – Get Out and About More – timed for the summer holidays. It brought back time spent with my own children during these long holidays. And month 11, NaNoWriMo – I can relate, definitely a life changer.
This book is written as a memoir of the year’s experiences rather than as an instruction manual and the author’s chatty, easy going style makes the reading easy.
Some will get more from this than others I’m sure but everyone will get something that will bring a little more focus into the way we are living our lives. It has certainly made me stop putting off something I’ve been needing to get to grips with for a while and that has been a real boost, thank you Ms Wilson.
A great review G and it sounds like the perfect book to jolt us out of our comfort zones 😀
It does give you some great ideas E. It’s so easy to just let time pass and not get on with stuff – haha!
