I chose to read Moments of Consequence as a member of Rosie’s Book Review Team.

I love short stories and I’ve also loved everything I’ve read from this author before. I therefore bought this book as soon as I saw it was published. And was not disappointed.

Although these are short stories, they are long enough for you to get fully immersed in them. And they are clever. So clever. My favourites were The Food of Love, Piggy in the Middle and Dare Devil. I’ve named three because it seems a nonsense to list them all out, but the entire book is enjoyable and every reader will find something to love.

The writing is, as I knew it would be, excellent, and this superb book of short stories comes highly recommended.

On the other hand every morsel they eat or drink they imbibe is recorded, and noted. The Bettencourts are back, with more scheming and manipulation […]
