It’s a difficult task writing 75 stories in 75 words, even coming up with that number of ideas is daunting let alone editing them to fit into this exacting framework yet Mallett skilfully seems to manage this with ease in 75 x 75 = Flash Fraction.
I do not particularly follow politics or have any interest in politicians themselves but however much we may try and steer clear of politics they are threaded through all of our lives however we choose to live them. Throughout our family, working or social lives politics reign so I don’t believe you have to have […]
Some of my most creative thoughts happen when on a dog walk, as do my best conversations with my dog-walking buddy. So I thought I’d invite some of my author friends along to join me and my girls and see if I can find out a little more about them and what they’ve been up […]
For All Eternity is billed as a book of short stories and I found each one of them flowed naturally into the next with Catshill using the short story format to skip over time gaps skilfully until complete they formed one whole tale.

I did not go to this school but my children did, in fact my son is still there, and in his last term. The sixth form is housed in the rather splendid Hinchingbrooke House […]
I don’t think I’ve read a novel written in the second person before but I really liked it and thought it suited the storyline of Ultra Violence perfectly adding a direct, in the moment feel to the whole book. Barry’s attention to detail and his clever turn of phrase is, as always, impeccable and it […]
I was gripped from the first page of The Paradise Trees when ‘The Stranger’ appears. His is a very creepy voice in this story where Alicia and her daughter, Jenny, return to Alicia’s fathers’ home to help care for him. Huber does a great job of building the suspense, as Alicia’s memories of her childhood […]
I finished Rock’n’Roll Suicide in the early hours of this morning clearly having no respect for everything I have to do today. West’s well written descriptions of his settings, situations and characters are beautiful and realistic. Jack Lockwood is very likeable and I quickly found myself caring about what happened to him – and a lot did.
